Early in 2012, something changed in U.S. supermarkets. It may even have escaped your notice. It's small in size. But, it gives great power to people who eat meat — and also want to enjoy a more healthful diet.
It's the Nutrition Facts label now required on packages of chopped or ground meat and poultry.
Nutrition information must also be on — or posted near — 40 other popular cuts of meat, including chicken breasts, steaks and pork chops.
