5 to-dos for choosing fitness shoes

Whether you walk, run, pedal or putt, your feet are getting a workout, too.

To get the most out of your favorite activity — and to reduce your chances of injury — you need the right shoes.

A 5-point game plan
Keep your feet happy with these smart-selection tips:

1. Work on your timing
Shop for shoes at the end of the day or after exercise. This is when feet tend to be their largest. Even if you buy online, try on your purchases at these times.
