Excerpt taken from UnitedHealthcare's Care24 Health Bulletin

Cancer is a scary word. Just the mere mention of it can stop people in their tracks. What many people don’t realize is that healthful lifestyle choices can reduce the occurrence of some cancers and save many lives.

In addition to quitting smoking (lung cancer kills more people than breast, colon and prostrate cancers combined), eating a healthful diet, maintaining a healthful weight and exercising can greatly reduce your risk of many types cancer. Be sure to check with your doctor before significantly increasing your level of activity.

Click here for a UHC handout with some very helpful Cancer Resources.

For some great resources on developing - or better yet maintaining - a healthy lifestyle, I suggest visiting The American Heart Association Web site. Click here to be directed to its Web site. They offer nutrition advice, exercise & fitness information, a Body Mass Index (BMI) Calculator and more! It's a one-stop shop to your free lifestyle information!

Have a great week everyone!
