Tip Tuesday: Eye Health

In previous posts I have discussed some great ancillary benefits you might consider offering to your workforce in lieu of full-blown medical insurance, such as life and dental insurance. However, one of the most highly-sought after employee benefits is vision insurance...and the proof is in the numbers!

Click here to view a great piece on eye health, Vision: By The Numbers. It is important to remember that good eye health and eye care are crucial to protecting our sight, preventing common eye disorders and treating eye problems early.

With that said, when considering ancillary benefits, you may want to take a closer look at vision insurance.

Tip Tuesday: Dental Insurance is Another Fabulous Employee Benefit

Dental insurance is an important employee benefit that your employees will really appreciate - and come to demand. Dental insurance is a relatively inexpensive out-of-pocket business expense to you (the business owner), yet employees rate it as one of the most important benefits to them. Your return on investment with dental insurance is a no-brainer.

Most dental plans offer quality coverage for preventive, basic and major dental services. However, dental plans, much like health plans, can either be "rich," "basic" or somewhere in between depending on what you are willing to pay per enrolled employee.

As discussed in last week's blog, even if you can't afford to offer a comprehensive benefits package at this time, consider offering your employees a lower cost benefit that they will appreciate - and use! Dental insurance will definitely keep your employees smiling (in more ways than one).
